1. How do I know when to replace the scratcher?

When it's mostly shredded, flat in the middle, or your cat has lost interest in it. If they're going back to your furniture, that's a solid hint. Before replacing, flip it over – the other side is fresh and ready to go.

2. Will this fit in my old Scratch Box?

Yes, as long as you have the original Scratch Box from Fur Family. The dimensions are specific to our design, so it won't fit other brands. If you're unsure, check that your box measures 40cm x 30cm x 22cm.

3. Can I use this scratcher outside the box?

You can, but you'll lose the mess-containment benefit that makes The Scratch Box so good. Without the box, cardboard bits will scatter everywhere like a regular flat scratcher. Plus, your cat might not be as interested without the cosy hideaway element.

4. Can I recycle the old scratcher insert?

Yes. It's just cardboard and non-toxic glue, so it's recyclable in most areas. Check your local recycling guidelines to be sure.

5. How long does a refill typically last?

This depends entirely on your cat's enthusiasm and how many cats you currently serve. Light scratchers might get six months out of it. Dedicated shredders might demolish it in two hours. Remember to flip it over halfway through for maximum value.
