Our story

Fur Family didn’t begin as a business but rather out of love for our fur family. They’ve been there through everything: the good days, the rough ones, and everything in between. We wanted pet products that actually match their personalities, not some boring thing off the shelf.

It really kicked off the day we realised Freddie, our magical three-legged boy, couldn’t use the cat tree like his siblings could. We tried those cardboard scratchers everyone raves about. The result? Total chaos. Tiny cardboard confetti everywhere. That’s when thought: why not put it in a proper box? One that’s actually nice to look at, not like the tatty thing your online order showed up in. Cats are obsessed with boxes anyway, so we went big, stylish, and cosy. We began to prototype The Scratch Box was born, and slowly our product range grew from there.

Being pet parents has brought us so much – joy, laughter, the occasional heartbreak, and the deep understanding that pets are not just animals. They’re family.

Every product gets tested (and almost always stolen) by our own pets first. If our Fur Family won’t use it, it doesn’t make the cut. Simple as that. We treat every product like it’s going home with someone we actually know.

Locally made, not mass-bought

You won’t see bulk orders from the other side of the world. Everything we sell is either made by us or sourced locally, because cheaper doesn’t always mean better. Our pets deserve more than just “good enough”.

Bonnie

Chairman of the Window Watching Committee

Responsibilities: Monitors all outdoor activity, especially birds, squirrels, and any suspicious movement in the front garden. Reports directly to management with urgent meows.

Chuck

In-house Therapist and Professional Listener

Responsibilities: Provides therapeutic purring sessions, offers comfort during stressful times, and is currently perfecting the art of the lap nap.

Tosca

Head of Security

Responsibilities: Guards the home against menacing hadedas, alerts us to potential squirrel invasions, and makes sure no treat goes unnoticed.

Carmen

Chief Barketing Officer

Responsibilities: Promotes our brand with enthusiastic barks and tail wags. Expert in customer relations, especially with neighbours passing by. Will give paw for treats.

Harley

Naptime Supervisor and Dream Analyst

Responsibilities: Oversees daily nap schedules, offers expert advice on the most comfortable sleeping spots, and tests the softness of every available surface.

Freddie

Performance Artist and Vocal Entertainment Specialist

Responsibilities: Entertains us with impromptu concerts and vocal solos at dawn. Currently working on his cat serenade repertoire.

Sophie

Fitness Trainer and Yoga Guru

Responsibilities: Leads spontaneous yoga sessions, demonstrates the perfect cat stretch, and promotes a healthy lifestyle through random bursts of zoomies.

Mac

Chief Troublemaker

Responsibilities: Orchestrates all surprise attacks on unsuspecting toes, supervises toilet paper unravelling, and maintains optimal mischief levels at all times.

Clyde

Guardian of the Forever Sunbeam (2012-2022)

Responsibilities: Manages an eternal sunbeam, positioned right over the Rainbow Bridge, making sure there's always a perfect basking spot for furry companions.
