How to set up your Scratch Box

Prefer to skim? Here’s the quick version:

Step 1: Unbox The Scratch Box and remove the bellyband. Fair warning: scrunch it up and it’s probably become your cat’s favourite toy.

Step 2: Fold the edges up –  logo side out. Then fold in the flaps. 

Step 3: Drop the scratcher insert in. (Kind of important, this one.)

Step 4: Put The Scratch Box wherever your cat loves to hang out – their favourite sunbeam, a cosy corner, or a passage they’re always bombing through.

Step 5: Let them explore. Most cats climb in within minutes. If yours needs a nudge, try a sprinkle of catnip (yes, we included a sample bag for you) or toss their favourite toy inside.

A few tips for happy scratching

Location matters. Pop it near furniture they like to scratch – it can help redirect those claws to something that won’t cost you a new couch.

Rotate if you can. If your cat has got multiple favourite spots, move the box around every few weeks. Keeps thing interesting. (Or get another Scratch Box.)

Watch for wear.  When the insert starts to look properly loved (shredded really) you can grab them here.

Let them claim it. Some cats need a day or two to decide the box is theirs. Don’t force, they’ll figure it out on their own schedule.
